It is observed how these narratives share universal themes, but also reflect the concerns and values of their respective eras. By examining these literary works together, the aim is to understand how myths and fairy tales are constantly reimagined and reinvented over time. The analysis reveals how these stories share common themes and motifs, while also highlighting their cultural and temporal distinctions.
2025-09-01T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2025 Daniela Brandão dos Reis Alveshttp://editorarevistas.mackenzie.br/index.php/cpgl/article/view/17809Memes2025-03-24T16:04:27-03:00Maria Gabriela Brandi Teixeiramgabriela@mackenzie.br
The general objective of this article is to characterize the new language phenomenon known as meme and specific objectives such as its interpretation, construction of meaning and its impact on the analysis of intertextuality in communication. Defining its origin, establishing a relationship with textual genres, its intertextuality, and its applicability in the classroom as a means of communication. The methodology used was a bibliographic survey on the topic to understand how the main scholars approach this topic. The article presents the introduction of what has been discussed, the definition and origin of the meme and theoretical framework (Koch, 2019), (Dawkins, 1979), (Porto, 2018) among others cited. About textual genre, intertextuality, media, and the use of meme in the classroom using the authors Schifman (2014), Marcuschi (2003), Bakhtin, (2003).
2025-09-01T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2025 Maria Gabriela Brandi Teixeirahttp://editorarevistas.mackenzie.br/index.php/cpgl/article/view/18197Editoral 2025-08-28T10:49:02-03:00Cristhiano Aguiarcadernosletras@mackenzie.brElaine Cristinacadernosletras@mackenzie.br2025-09-01T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2025 Cristhiano Aguiar, Elaine Cristinahttp://editorarevistas.mackenzie.br/index.php/cpgl/article/view/17575The narrative function of Ulysses in the Odyssey: 2025-03-17T23:54:46-03:00Rafaela dos Santos Teixeirarafaela.teixeira@ufms.br
Cantos IX to XII of the Odyssey, a Greek work attributed to Homer, has as its narrator its protagonist, Ulysses, who presents part of his adventures across the seas. The encounter with several creatures, described during this section of the epic, is extremely important for us to understand the pattern of “human” and “civilized” in the work, ideals that are largely dictated by the context of its production and the oral tradition by which it passed until its fixation. Such analysis allows us to further understand the social function of Homeric productions, as well as the aedos, responsible for transmitting it.
2025-09-01T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2025 Rafaela dos Santos Teixeirahttp://editorarevistas.mackenzie.br/index.php/cpgl/article/view/17828O mito de Eros e Psiquê na obra East, de Edith Pattou2025-03-24T15:44:09-03:00Patricia Giampaolipatpaoli83@gmail.com
Much of the literary production has been carried out through the reuse of ancient, classical and mythological texts. Among the sources of inspiration, the myth of Eros and Psyche has been used repeatedly to expose the importance of regret, trust between lovers, and the search for redemption. This article analyzes the children's book East by the American writer Edith Pattou. The main objective of this analysis was to identify the elements of the mythical narrative of Eros and Psyche used in the construction of the modern novel by Edith Pattou, using, as a theoretical basis, texts about comparative literature, intertextuality and mythology studies.
2025-09-01T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2025 Patricia Giampaolihttp://editorarevistas.mackenzie.br/index.php/cpgl/article/view/17848O mar de Sophia: encontro entre tempo mítico e presente em “Ítaca” e “O rei de Ítaca”2025-03-31T15:32:06-03:00Daniele Atie Forestodaniele.atie@unesp.br
This article explores the dimensions of classical mythology, the estrangement with the modern world, and the search for the deeper essence of humanity in the verses of the Portuguese poet Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen. The analysis of the poems “Ítaca” and “O Rei de Ítaca” highlights the sea as a dominant symbol and the Greek hero as an exemplary figure. Sophia’s ultimate aim seems to be the reimagining of the classical myth: following Homeric influences, embracing the natural vastness of the sea breeze, and surrendering to a profound meditation on the origins of the world and the human condition. Imbued with an Ulissian spirit, her poetry revives the myth while immersing itself in the nostalgia of times never lived.
2025-09-01T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2025 Daniele Atie Forestohttp://editorarevistas.mackenzie.br/index.php/cpgl/article/view/17851A leitura de clássicos nas aulas de língua portuguesa2025-03-31T15:36:08-03:00Francisca Oliveirafraciscacruz@gmail.com
This article points out some relevant aspects and needs regarding the practice of the act of reading. K. Rowling. It is hypothesized that the novel reworks the Orphic archetype through elements such as memory, pain, and sacrifice, proposing a new ethic of heroism in which salvation arises from inner strength and emotional bonds. The methodological approach is qualitative and interpretative, based on comparative analysis. Finally, it is argued that, by casting the Patronus charm, Harry Potter resignifies the Orphic lyre, transforming his pain into an act of resistance against self-erasure and memory into a source of symbolic power.
2025-09-01T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2025 João Paulo Baldinhttp://editorarevistas.mackenzie.br/index.php/cpgl/article/view/17887The Iliad in the 21st Century2025-04-29T15:11:22-03:00Carolina Ramos Henriquecarolina.henrique@undf.edu.br
This article examines the contemporary reception of Homer, as exemplified by Madeline Miller’s novel The Song of Achilles (2012) and fanfiction works based on the Iliad, with the aim of understanding what is distinctive about 21st-century engagements with classical texts. The theoretical framework draws on Charles Martindale’s Classical Reception studies, Julia Kristeva’s Intertextuality theory, and Alexandra Edwards’ research on fanfiction. This article aims to think about this situation by looking back at the disputes between Greek philosophers and sophists in the 5th century B.C.E., focusing on the sophists' conception of the world. The proposed solution is a multiple concept of truth that takes into account the specificities of each area of knowledge developed by human beings.
2025-09-01T00:00:00-03:00Copyright (c) 2025 Ana Paula Ribeiro Câmarahttp://editorarevistas.mackenzie.br/index.php/cpgl/article/view/17889O culto dionisíaco em The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)2025-04-29T15:11:10-03:00Mirian Sodrésodremia@gmail.com
Dioniso é uma potência na cultura grega, potência esta que atravessou o tempo, saindo da Grécia Antiga e chegando até nós.
